Item Description
Thanks to the generosity of the folks at Audio Art, we're able to offer a pair of vintage Audio Innovations 1000SE 50 watt Class A monobloc tube amps, as part of the Audio Asylum Asian Tsunami Victim Support Auction.

Let's be clear: these are a project. Well, TWO projects! These were designed by Peter Qvortrup years ago, and as you might expect, were good amps. Original retail was in the vicinity of $4000 US.

Some details from our donor:
"Peter af Audio Note says that these were excellent
amplifiers, and that he will sell the missing tubes
and other components to the winner.

"These two amplifier were taken apart for a major
rebuild, which was never completed.
So buyer needs to rebuild one monoblock amplifier, and
complete the other monoblock amplifier.
Missing parts, as far as I can see, are one bottom
plate with ventilation holes, two PSU capacitors, and
all tubes. A number of screws are missing. One power
switch is defective.
One amplifier need to be cleaned.

"220 or 240 Volt Mains!
This is a golden chance for DIY
Tube fans. Either to restore to original spec, the
schematic is included, or to build your own dream
design. Such nice looking chassis are normally not easy to get
for DIY."

Photos should be up shortly if they are not up now. Please note that one unit needs to be completed (as most resistors/caps are gone)and looks a tad crispy. Still: lots of great stuff here, and these amps complete would be worth--what, $2k? Could be a gold mine in parts if you decide not to rebuild them.

PLEASE participate in this auction: GREAT amps (with a little work!) and a GREAT cause!
